Monsignor Ivan Rovira

Well, one of my childhood priests has acknowledged raping a boy 24 years ago. The boy and his family were friends of my family. Fr. Ivan Rovira was our parish priest in the early 80's at St. Pius X in Weslaco and again in the 90's at St. Joseph in Edinburg. Furthermore, Fr. Ivan was one of the men in charge at the Diocese when I briefly worked there in 2001-2003 as Director of Information Systems. It's just a very sad and sick situation. I remember in 2002 when Fr. Ivan left the Diocese abruptly, rumors around the office was that there was some sexual misconduct. I found it hard to believe. But here we are and it just makes me sick.
